Baying Hound Aleworks – Sarvara (American IPA)

  • 9.00% ABV
  • Paul Rinehart if you are reading this (and brewers do come here a lot), please dont get discouraged. I like where your head is at and I promise to keep buying your beers. But… This isnt that good. Once again it is a “beer”. As in I am pretty sure I can make this myself. Nothing really stands out in the smell or taste except maybe a slight metallic flavor. Dude keep going. I know you will work this shit out.

Baying Hound Aleworks – Lord Wimsey’s (American Pale Ale)

  • 6.00% ABV
  • This is not good. I really want to like it because it was brewed in Rockville, but I am having a lot of problems with it. It doesnt smell bad or good, it just kind of smells. That isnt the real problem tho, things kind of go wrong in the taste. M1 just tried it and said “It isnt horrible” which just about sums it up. I have brewed better beers than this and maybe that is the problem. This tastes like something I would brew.

Matt Brewing Company – Saranac White IPA (American Pale Wheat Ale)

  • 6.00% ABV
  • I really like this. I like it REAL good! I am not sure what a White IPA is supposed to taste like because it doesnt actually exist as a style but what ever. I like this. It is definitely an American Pale Wheat Ale and while it is good it isnt as good a Little Summin Summin, but honestly that is an retardly awesome beer. What ever, it is kind of bitter and kind of light. But mostly it is just good.

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery – Noble Rot (Saison)

  • 9.00% ABV
  • HOLY SHIT! This is the best beer I have had in the last year. This is possibly the best beer I have tasted since I had the Sorachi Ace from 2 years ago. It might possibly be better than the 10.10.10 Vertical Epic. Holy shit, I am completely blown away by how good this is. I am completely floored. Dogfish is both the best and worst brewer ever. They make shit like the Hellhound, the 60 and 90 Minute’s which make me want to start a jihad against Bud drinkers. But then they make World Wide Stout which I am sure is an attack against all taste buds. I dont know, I am pretty sure there is a dude who has a 180 degree opinion from me that proves the point that DFH is probably the best brewer ever. They make beer’s that are completely polarizing, you LOVE them or you HATE them. OK enough editorializing, on to the beer. I guess the secret to making a awesome beer is: 1: Make it a Saison, 2:  Use grapes (or a grape by-products) in the beer. The result is awesome. This a light, fruity tasting delicious ummm… Ambrosia tasting beer? Yes! This is a beer worthy of God himself. I would tell you to go buy one but I am (not joking) going to buy all of them left on the shelves tomorrow.

Rogue Ales – St. Rogue Red (American Amber)

  • 5.10% ABV
  • This is a dry hopped amber and I got to say I am a little disappointed. The aromatics just arnt there. I can smell it but I just thought that after dry hopping I would get punched in the nose with delicious smells. On the plus side it is fucking amazing tasting. For real, I dont really like amber’s but this is really really good. It has enough hops to make up for the fact that is amber. Not to say it is an IPA ore a pale ale but they are there.

Sixpoint – Sweet Action (Cream Ale)

  • 5.20% ABV
  • Well this is certainly interesting. Interesting as in AWESOME!!! I was pretty sure that a cream ale would suck but holy shit was I wrong. Normally I hate sweet beers but it is working here, I guess it is the cream in it. Actually what the hell do I know about anything. Serious, I am an idiot but that doesn’t mean I am wrong about this. Wow, I keep drinking it and it is still just as good.

Rogue Ales – Brutal IPA (American IPA)

  • 5.80% ABV
  • This is a pretty good IPA. I guess I am getting to the point where I have had so many IPA’s that for one to stand out it has to have something really of the wall going on in it. That doesnt mean I dont like this, it is very good. But that is it, it is a good true to the style American IPA. I like it and I am going to buy it again. And again. And probably again. The thing I really like about this is that I am still getting the big hop kick that I love but it is only 5.8%. Werd! Work night beer…
