So M1 is baking a cake that called for a Stout (I know it sounds awesome) and this is the beer she bought. Normally I don’t buy stouts because I don’t really like them but oh man am I glad she got this one. It is not as heavy as I would have thought being a Double and all. It is also not as chocolaty as you would think. Basically it is everything is almost perfect balance.
This is actually pretty good. I mean it has a really distinctive malt flavor that is pronounced without being overpowering. Sadly it is not one that I particularly care for, and I dont mean it is bad. It just isnt really the style for me. I am almost positive that this a good beer it just isnt my style.
OK, there is a good IPA and after the beers I have had tonight this is a good thing. Nothing out of the ordinary but it hits all of the right notes. OK then I guess I am running on empty for cleaver comments, but after drinking this I am going to change the other reviews for the evening to dont buy because this is much better.
This is actually not bad which is surprising for an English Pale Ale. Well surprising for me at least because I appreciate a generous amounts of hops in my beers and this one doesn’t have it. What it does have is a very smooth almost buttery taste to it. Well butter infused with hops and malts, I mean there is no question that this is a beer. Just a kind of muted one that is very drinkable. Decent but I am not really digging it.
Yet another sub-par IPA. I guess now that everybody is jumping on the IPA bandwagon (still waiting for a Pepsi IPA) that a lot of them are going to suck. Ya so I am not going to think up to many ways to express the blandness of this, instead I am just going to go with I dont like it.
