Saint Louis Brewery – Bière De Garde (Bière de Garde)

  • 7.50% ABV
  • Point of fact… A Bière de Garde is not a Saison. I dont know why I thought they were but they are defiantly not the same thing. This is more malty with out the Champagne tasting yeast. All and all it tastes kind of like a sub-par ale to me. Maybe it is just the style, maybe it is just this beer. What ever the cause the result is I dont like it. I am trying to find something nice to say about it but I got nothing.

Evolution Craft Brewing Company – Lot No3 India Pale Ale (American IPA)

  • 6.80% ABV
  • So I am pretty sure my taste buds are completely out of whack tonight because this is my 3rd new beer and I have not like any of them. Once again this isnt bad but it isnt really all that good. It makes me sad because it seems like beer is turning into a broken record for me. All new beers are neither bad nor outstanding… Well except for the Hellhound, that was really good. Either way No3 is… Meh.
  • – Dont buy

Butte Creek Brewing Company – Organic Pilsner (German Pilsener)

  • 4.50% ABV
  • Yup. It tastes like ass. At first taste I was all like “this isnt very good”. The more I drink the more ass like it tastes. I hate to beat thedead horse but I think this is a organic thing. I still havnt had an organic beer that was brewed organically that doesnt taste like??? Ass? Yes, yes indeed… Ass!
  • – Dont buy again

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery – Robert Johnson’s Hellhound On My Ale (American Double)

  • 10.00% ABV
  • This beer is freaking delicious. No shit, for real, absolutely delicious. It is 10% ABV but you cant taste it at all, which is pretty rare for a Dogfish. When they bump it up I can normally tell (yes I know that sounds douchy). God damn it, the more I drink the better it gets. Plus, it is a tribute to Robert Johnson!!! I love him. I love this beer. I love the hint of lemon in it. I really cant explain it any better… But that is probably because the 10% is kicking in.
  • + + Buy again (and soon)

Boston Beer Company – Samuel Adams Rustic Saison (Saison)

  • 4.35% ABV
  • Well like most Sam Adam beers this is pretty good. Not great because it doesnt really do anything different with the style. Which makes sense I guess, they are trying to market to all of America and you cant do that with extreme takes on style. What ever, I like it OK and due to the fact it is almost impossible to find Saison’s I will probably get it again.
  • + Buy again.
