So these dudes are out of Warrenton so that is cool, I love local beers. Thankfully it is also really good. It is a pretty good example of an English Pale Ale, not super bitter and a lot of malt goodness. Oddly enough, for once, I am really enjoying the malts… A lot. This is a really good beer.
This is actually not bad which is surprising for an English Pale Ale. Well surprising for me at least because I appreciate a generous amounts of hops in my beers and this one doesn’t have it. What it does have is a very smooth almost buttery taste to it. Well butter infused with hops and malts, I mean there is no question that this is a beer. Just a kind of muted one that is very drinkable. Decent but I am not really digging it.
I can taste the English in this. It has a very subtle hop taste that isnt really all that bitter but still in there. I am liking it as a change from IPA’s and I can honestly say this is the best English Pale Ale I have had so far.
First taste = Not bad… Second smell = Pretty good… Third taste = I like it… Not up there in the IBU’s but I am still liking it. I want more of the good malt taste. Not like a porter malt but it is still full of malty goodness… Drink more.
You know just because you are using a gimmic to sell your beer doesnt mean you get of the hook if that beer sucks. I mean I love Monty Python as much as any one… The first time I saw the Holy Grail I almost had to go to the hospital because I laughed so hard I had a massive asthma attack (true story). Dont use my cherished memories to sell your ass tasting ale. This isnt shitastic but there is no way I ever want to try another one.
This is (I am guessing) the what a English Pale Ale is supposed to taste like, and I dont like it. Uhhg it is bland and boring. It is pissing me off that I have to finish it. It should be noted that I am not pouring it out tho so it isnt that bad.
So in the past I have kind of shit all over English IPA’a and pale ales and now for that I apologize. Granted all of the other ones I have tried were indeed shit, this one makes up for them. It isnt the best pale ale I have ever had but it is good. It has more of a weird flavor than bitters but I think that is the point. My point is, this is good.
Bought this kind of as a joke, I mean its a Busch right. Well while it isnt the best English Pale Ale I have ever had it is not the worst either. I wont send out the hounds to track another one down but I will be semi-happy to drink another one.
Dear England, how is it that you invented Pale Ale’s and yet make them taste so bad? For real, what the hell is going wrong over there? This supposedly won a gold medal at the International Beer Awards but I am not entirely sure how because it tastes kind of like shit. It has a strong malt flavor but it is a sweet malt flavor. Bot sure how they pulled that of. Any way, I am giving this one to M1 to finish.
Very tasty but with no defining characteristic. I guess I mean it is what you expect a BEER to taste like. It is like Budweiser pulled its head from its own ass and decided to make a good beer. I am not sure what that means… But I really like this beer.
It kind of smells like a skunk beer and the taste is a little off so I am not sure if I got a good one. There was a Nut Brown Ale in the same 6 pack that pretty much exploded when I opened it so I think something was wrong with the whole batch. Any way, I have like all of the other Saint George’s I have had so I am going to try this again.
Finally, something I am happy to drink. It seems like the past couple of beers I have tried have been crap and I was getting tired of it. Well no more, this is pretty good. I am not sure if it is the English style but it isn’t as bitter as an American IPA, not that I am complaining, like I said I like it.
Wow that was surprising, I thought I had bought another Japanese rice beer but it turns out it is an IPA. It is pretty good… OK it is really good. It is just that I wanted a Japanese style beer not a Japanese brew of an English beer. Anyway, it isnt too bitter and it has just a touch of malt to balance. I like it.
